Featured in DEKO, August 2024, and recipient of the Future House Award 2024, RESIDENCE R is a private family home located just outside Riga, where architecture blurs the boundaries between interior and landscape, allowing the design narrative to unfold naturally.
Through form, light, and proportion, architecture becomes a quiet companion to everyday life.
At the heart of the house, a glazed inner garden frames a Latvian Black Pine, bringing natural light deep into the interior and connecting the surrounding spaces.
Residence R unfolds as a single-level composition of clean, intersecting volumes. Guest and private areas remain distinct, while sliding glass façades and framed views maintain a continuous connection to the garden and landscape.
The architecture begins with three defining walls, arranged around the idea of the inner glass courtyard. From this simple gesture, the entire house develops – its volumes, views, circulation, and relationship with nature.
A home where architecture and landscape coexist in quiet balance.
