Cielaviņas

Built for movement.. made for rest.

Where the river Misa turns slowly through the forest, an active-leisure and sport complex unfolds next to 2km of riverbank.

Nothing imposes on the site, everything is placed to belong to it. A landscape drawn for movement, and for stillness.. gathered around the river that holds it together.

Playing fields and a sports house, cabins, decks and many more functions set lightly into the woodland.. each measured to its use, each given the same care. One hall, many lives. Adaptable space, set low under a deep timber eave at the forest’s edge. By day, it’s a playing field that shifts to suit the game; by evening, an event space turned toward a stage.

Much of the work was quieter than any building: shaping one coherent landscape that could hold two lives at once. Open ground for active leisure, and private places set apart for retreat, so that movement and rest belong to the same whole.
